History of the house:
The "Quinta de Real" was originally born in the eighteenth century, in what was then known as the Concelho de Bouças, which eventually became the city of Matosinhos. The farm was at the time managed from this house, and became known for its exports of camelias, mainly to Brasil, run by the Marques de Abrantes.
During the 20th Century the house was used for 75 years by the english Symmington family, which gave rise to it's current name - Casa do Ingles (House of the Englishman).
