Zurich is situated in the heart of Europe and is "the center of Switzerland". Nestling beside Lake Zurich, with stunning views of the Swiss Alps, the city is just a 10-minute journey from its international airport. Airport Zurich is served by regular scheduled flights from every continent and from most countries and major cities in the world.
A cosmopolitan city with something to offer almost every visitor: beautiful historical Old Town with large pedestrian area. Great nightlife, various museums, galleries, opera, concerts and events as well as many restaurants, bars, clubs and discos. | | Directions | From the main railway station 'Zurich Hauptbahnhof':
- take bus # 31 (direction Schlieren) and get off at the stop 'Luggweg-Strasse'. Bus ride takes approx. 15 minutes. Go straight 200m make a left turn by crossing the street. Walk to the next big intersection with traffic lights. At the corner turn left into Baslerstrasse and walk another 200 meters to Hostel Suisse. To walk from the bus stop to our location you need max. 5 minutes!
From the airport:
- take a train to the railway station 'Zurich-Altstetten'. In front is Hohlstrasse. Cross the street and walk straight (approx. 300m) = Bristenstrasse At the next corner turn left = Baslerstrasse. Walk straight (approx. 700m) cross at big intersection with traffic lights and 200m further on the left side is Hostel Suisse located.
The journey from the airport to the city center takes approx. 10 minutes by train (services every 15 minutes) or around 20 minutes by taxi directly to Hostel Suisse.
Taxis (cabs) are located by the exits at the arrival terminals 1 and 2. The trip by taxi from the airport to Hostel Suisse costs around CHF 50 (33).
- Another way is to take tram # 3 (direction Albisrieden) from the main railway station and change at the stopp 'Stauffacher'. Then take tram # 2 (direction Farbhof) and get off at the stop "Grimselstrasse". Walk back 200m and cross the street at the traffic light. Turn left and walk to the intersection you see ahead. This is Baslerstrasse.
