Description - Hostel

Ace York is a 4 star city centre hostel, conveniently located near York railway & bus Station and situated in Micklegate, one of the oldest parts of York.

This grand Georgian 1752 townhouse has many impressive features; including stone-flagged entrance hall, a grand sweeping staircase, panelled rooms, vaulted cellar and a fabulous Rococo ceiling featuring Shakespeare's head. If you are looking for a budget York option, then Ace York is the place to be!

With air-conditioning throughout, its own oak-beamed basement games room, TV lounge, sauna, fully stocked 24 hour bar and outside seating area; Ace York is the top end of budget accommodation.

Twin Bunk rooms at Ace York Twin Bunk Rooms offer views of Micklegate and all twins rooms offer en-suite bathrooms, televisions, in room safes & tea and coffee facilities.

Ace York Dormitories The Dormitories range from 4 beds to 14 beds and all are en suite apart from our 4 bed dormitory. Most have a view of either the walls of York, the Cathedral or Micklegate itself. With under bed storage lockers and individual reading lights, any chosen room is a delight.

Neighborhood

Our hostel is loctaed within York City Walls on Micklegate. We are a short walk from the train and bus station and between 5-10 minutes walk from all the city centre attractions, including York Minster, York Dungeon, Jorvik, Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum, Yorkboat, all the ghoswalks and city walking tours.

Booking and cancellation policy

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

*All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid credit card*
*All cancellations need to be in writing and all reservations cancelled after 14.00 hrs the day before arrival will be charged the first night*
*Check in on day of arrival: From 14:00*
*Check out on day of departure: By 10:00*
*With reservations of 6 or more guests we may charge you our group security deposit of £250 on arrival which will be refunded following a successful visit*
*Families with children under 16 years old must take and pay for a whole room as children are not to share with other guests*

Group Term & Conditions:

Please state your groups’ age when enquiring about availability.

For groups of 10 people or over, 50% of the total booking value will be required as a deposit to confirm your booking. Bookings will not be confirmed unless the 50% deposit is received within 7 days of making the booking. Payments can be made either by Visa, MasterCard, Switch, or in some cases cheque, Bank Transfer or cash.

The remaining balance can be paid upon arrival, except when paying by cheque or bank transfer, when we will require payment no later than 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Upon check in, you are required to leave a security deposit of £250.00 for any damages/vandalism caused to the hostel. This deposit will be returned on the day of your departure if no damage is detected. You can leave the deposit by cash or by pre-authorised credit/debit card.

Amendments/Cancellations/Refunds:

Any amendments to your group booking must be made more than 28 days prior to arrival. A charge equal to 5% of the total booking value will be charged for any amendments made with less the 28 days prior to arrival. No refund will be given to reduction in group size less than 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Any cancellation made with 28 days notice or more will incur a booking charge, equal to 10% of the total booking value. This charge will be deducted from the monies received and the balance will be refunded within 28 days. The 50% deposit will not be refunded if less than 28 days cancellation notice has been given. If you cancel your booking less than 1 week prior to arrival, the full balance will be forfeited. By giving us your credit card details you are authorising us to use this as security for your reservation and your accommodation. Any unpaid cancellation charges will be charged to your credit card.

All cancellations must be made in writing and must be sent, faxed or emailed to the address below.
No cancellations/changes will be accepted by telephone.

How to get there

Our address is Micklegate House, 88-90 Micklegate, York, YO1 6JX.

From the station turn right down Queens Street, for a few minutes, then turn left onto Micklegate. We are a few hundred yards down on the left.

Micklegate House is just 5 minutes walk from York Railway station and 5 minutes walk from the bus terminus.

Ace York is in the city centre, close to shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions.
