Description - Bed and breakfast

Villa Schiticchiu is very well furnished and the rooms are very well full equipped, with air condition, heating, independent access, private bathroom with shower, balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast in the morning is served from 7. 00 to 10. 00 a. m. with tipical sicilian products as home made cake, fresh bread, cheese, ham, juice, yogurt, home made marmellade, cereal, fresh fruit, milk, coffeè, cappuccino, thè. on request is available english breakfast. During the summertime breakfast is served in the garden.

On request we can arrange extra service as transfer from and to Cataia airport, naturalistic excursion to visit the parks of Alcantara gorges and Etna volcano, gourmet tour, trekking to hike till 3000 metres on the pick of the Etna, canyoning, rafting, diving, snorkling, boat tour, guided visit in the most important sicilian cities, montain biking, off road 4x4, rent car or scooter hiring.

Villa Schiticchiu is located in Taormina mare, in the district of Spisone, far only 500 metres from the exit gate of Taormina of highway A19 Catania-Messina, 2 km from the train station, 800 metres from the cable way that arrive directly in the historical centre of Taormina, 20 metres from the bus stop.
The beach of Spisone is far only 25 metres by walk.

Neighborhood

When Johann Wolfgang Goethe reached Taormina in 1787 on his journey in Sicily he was enraptured by the enchanting scenery.

"On the right on two cliffs stand the castles, below stretches the city" - he wrote in his diary - "and although the buildings belong to a recent epoch one imagines that there were buildings on the same site even in ancient times. Then one observes the long sweep of Etna; the beach stretching to the left as far as Catania or Syracuse; the huge smoking mountain of fire enclosing the entire scene without in any way being frightening; the softening effect of the atmosphere which makes the mountain appear gentler and more distant than it actually is ".

On May 6 the same year, the great German traveller also admired the amphitheatre and as he rested on the upper steps acknowledged " that never had a theatre audience a similar sight before it".

Booking and cancellation policy

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

To confirm the reservation we ask the 30% of the total amount payment or a valid credit card and a valid identity card copies by fax with a write authorization to charge it in case of cancellation or no show.
If you cancel your booking more than 45 days in advance you will lose your deposit; after that we charge the following penalties to you:

From 45 to 30 days before your stay begins 30% of the whole cost of your stay
From 29 to 15 days before your stay begins 50% of the whole cost of your stay
Within 14 days of your stay begins 100% of the cost of your stay

How to get there

If you will arrive by car from Catania or Messina take the highway A19 and take the exit in Taormina gate. From there continue on the right side through Spisone-Mazzarò for 500 metres. Arrived in the cross turn in the right side for only 400 metres and in front the Hotel Lido Mediterraneè you will find B&B Villa Schiticchiu at the number 256 of Via Nazionale.
